Sherie K. Griffith's drawings and portraits have been capturing the attention of people for years. Her unique use of pencil and the portrayal of sunlight and shadows is quite intriguing. Sherie works on a variety of different subjects and papers. Architecture is a big favorite, with doors, windows or a garret being the sole focus. Portraits are exciting because every one is different and there are so many ways to capture a likeness. Sherie knew from an early age that she wanted to be an artist and took every art class she could fit into her schedule. In 1982 she enrolled in the Antonelli Institute of Art and Photography in York. While there she learned the basics of drawing, painting, color theory and design. She was active in school shows and won an honorable mention during her senior year. She graduated in 1985 with an Associate Degree in Fine Art and resided in York with her husband, Bill, and their two children until 2004.  Sherie and her family now call North Carolina and the tiny town of Browns Summit home.

Community Involvement

Sherie was a member of YorkArts from 1991-1999, a donor to the WITF art auction, and an artist for the Print-O-Stat calendar in 1998. During 2000 she was also 1st Vice-President of the York Art Association coordinating the gallery schedule. Sherie has also donated artwork for the York Celebrity Art Auction. Her commissions include drawings of the Hanover Junction and New Freedom train stations for the York County Heritage Rail/Trail Authority. Sherie's work has been exhibited at Yorkarts, Penn State University, Riverwalk, Bradley Academy, Border's Book Store, the York Art Association and at ArtFX Gallery. Her work hangs in many private collections in York and along the east coast.
